Pledgeship

Lambda Chapter’s pledge semester for Kappa Upsilon Chi is challenging and full of exciting moments. Pledgeship is a thirteen week process that will grow you closer to God, your pledge brothers, and the active brothers. The semester teaches you as a pledge numerous core values — leadership, accountability, loyalty, academics, faith and responsibility, to name a few. Pledges are expected to meet numerous requirements — all of which are designed to enhance you and help you grow and mature into the adult man that God desires you to be.

You will be tested and challenged with the purpose of growing you in your faith and inducting you into the brotherhood. Pledges are expected to attend pledge-specific events in addition to the regular chapter events that are designed to build a team environment and pledge class unity. Such events include pledge-specific functions during retreats, weekly pledge meetings, monthly challenges, and personal and spiritual growth sessions through our big/little brother program.

Pledge requirements:

  • To actively pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • To maintain Christian Biblical standards.
  • To be accountable to the pledge class and to the brothers.
  • To attend all mandatory activities and meetings.
  • To be a member at a church or to be seeking membership at a church.
  • To maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative Grade Point Average
As a pledge, you can have the confidence that we have a zero tolerance policy towards hazing. There will absolutely be NO HAZING at any point during your pledgeship. You can also expect to be welcomed by each brother as you spend one on one time with each of us. We sincerely hope that you make the decision through prayer to become a part of the Theta class of ’10 this fall. We can’t wait to meet you!
